H,

The grace of God is poured out on generation to generation to show in open space the brilliance of the coming Kingdom. We are pilgrims for this very reason. We are followers of the light because the dark has no place for us. The broken, the poor, the wounded, the cheated, the scorned and the underestimated are at the forefront of the Kingdom of God. They do not know anything but the rejection of the world. Since, they have been rejected by the world they reject it right back. They are not pretty or clever or attractive or deep enough for all its pretences. They do not pull the right crowd so they cannot access the right life.
This is fine. There is nothing in this world for them. There is nothing in this world for anybody. Those in the one percent are trapped by the things that make them wealthy. Those in the ninety nine percent are trapped by the idea of getting into the ideal of the one percent. All are punished. None are lifted. All fall short of the glory of God and His impending Kingdom.
This makes time ripe for the Kingdom of God. This is all we should wake up to. We have allowed something of the air of the world to trap our seed of faith and truth. On one hand we accept the tenets of the world and play the game of rats. On the other hand we withdraw from it completely and live in a false reality not of God. We are not here to be champions of the present state. We are not here to be hermits of a coming state either. I do not mean we need balance. I think we need to reconnect with the idea of an impending Kingdom.
This world is not our own, this world is not our home. That is the waking heart of a true citizen of Heaven.

H,
We have been trained to think that way. We believe honestly that we are doing some good in the world and forget how harmful idealism can be. It is not that there is no standard for conduct and we should let everything burn. It is not even that there is no such thing as a right way of thinking and a wrong way of acting. It is just that the human soul in present state cannot live up to his or her own foolish words.
Now, perhaps I am being too rash and too unscientific. There are seven billion people on the planet and I have not met most of them. I should rephrase. All the women and all the men I have met do not meet up with the idealism they profess. On any level. I include myself in that number. We are a church and a community in this very intimate sense. The more idealistic they are, the wider the cracks and the deeper the moss when the soul is truly examined. We were made to be creatures of the ideal, I think. We are not often seen living these ideals out to their fullest manifestations, I know for sure.
This is all fine. It is not the end of the conversation and I am not being down on what it is to be human. We should recognise our humanity. We should embrace it. It is a lovely sort of freedom to know you do not live up to what you say.
It is the sort of freedom where the renaissance of God truly starts.

H,

It is not right to think so on any level. I do not think that we sit in judgement over the conduct or misfortune of any other human being. We are not even allowed the luxury of judging ourselves. God sits in judgement over everyone, at the end. That is the real standard and the real guiding line.

We cannot be at ease with the systems of this world. We cannot accept that as the rule over who people are and what they do. It is not enough and it perhaps a bit too lazy to say that those who suffer should have taken a left instead of a right. This world does not lend itself to the simple philosophies of self-sufficiency (even when we label, in abject silliness, “self-sufficiency in God”). It will break into everyone eventually. We are told to take care of each other for precisely this reason.

We will fall down. If we are any good at it we will fall down many times. It is right that we have a hand to pull us back up again. In the marathon race that is our faith, sometimes the face of God is the hand of a friend.

“Power.”

B. All this power has to be subject to higher principles. What good does it do anyone if we can do only what we want? What good does it ...
