The grace of God is poured
out on generation to generation to show in open space the brilliance of the
coming Kingdom. We are pilgrims for this very reason. We are followers of the
light because the dark has no place for us. The broken, the poor, the wounded,
the cheated, the scorned and the underestimated are at the forefront of the
Kingdom of God. They do not know anything but the rejection of the world. Since,
they have been rejected by the world they reject it right back. They are not
pretty or clever or attractive or deep enough for all its pretences. They do
not pull the right crowd so they cannot access the right life.
This is fine. There is
nothing in this world for them. There is nothing in this world for anybody. Those
in the one percent are trapped by the things that make them wealthy. Those in
the ninety nine percent are trapped by the idea of getting into the ideal of
the one percent. All are punished. None are lifted. All fall short of the glory
of God and His impending Kingdom.
This makes time ripe for the
Kingdom of God. This is all we should wake up to. We have allowed something of
the air of the world to trap our seed of faith and truth. On one hand we accept
the tenets of the world and play the game of rats. On the other hand we
withdraw from it completely and live in a false reality not of God. We are not
here to be champions of the present state. We are not here to be hermits of a
coming state either. I do not mean we need balance. I think we need to
reconnect with the idea of an impending Kingdom.
This world is not our own,
this world is not our home. That is the waking heart of a true citizen of
Heaven.
