I know there are many people
who do not have the experience of good relationships on any level. There have
no good examples of connecting with people or sharing community.
There is an answer to this
sort of solitude and despair, there is a light even above the seeming darkness
of being alone.
Far above the companionship
of fellow man and fellow woman is the companionship with God. This is the basis
of all other connections. To find this is to find the wellbeing of all things.
If you are lonely and falling down and without a person to talk to, if there is
no sense of love and light in your life and you do not feel the any sense of
love in the world, then perhaps you are ready for the fullness of love in God.
This may sound like a
strange and immaterial thing to hinge real hopes on. This is the same argument
you can apply to all of Christianity. It is an immaterial thing. It tells you
that the immaterial is superior to the material in every way. It tells you that
to have faith is better than to need miracles to believe. It tells you the
abandoned soul is more ready for the grand adoption of God.
Friendship with God is a
moment of solitude every day that turns into a life of openness, living in the
immaterial scenes of a love beyond everything else.
We celebrate friendship which
each other. We are blessed with that in some cases. But we are all called to
friendship with God. This is the place where no one loses out or loses
anything.
