H,

There is a sense of community that cannot be breached by the arguments we have. It is clear that we are human for now and so we will disagree. The fights cannot be stronger than the love. The love must remain supreme.

There is a clear line under which no one is really right and no one is really wrong. Something in us rejects this notion. We want a clear rule of thumb for life only measured by us. This is not what faith gives us. Faith defends only love. Faith speaks only to love. Hope is a feeling, faith is in acts and love is a state of being. Our community of faith works by love. The basics of our faith are sure. For the rest, we can only measure it by love.
Everything is, in truth, measured by how much we love each other. There is no other criteria for growth or spiritual wellbeing. We have tried to fill the empty house of love with doctrine and it has often led to disaster. All our words and acts and being alive can be measured by how we love. It is the very nature of God. It is as close to being Him as we will ever be.
A community in God must be a place of love and nothing else. We cannot go wrong if we love. How do we know we are loving? If we are truly thinking of how to help and not hurt, how to bring up and not put down, how to be vulnerable to one another and not manipulative, we will know it within our own hearts. God looks at what your heart is doing. You know your heart, mostly. You know what you intend by that word or this act. That is where the real war for your soul is.

Ultimately we will fail at it enough to give our hearts to God. We will realise we cannot love. We do not know how to reach that fullness. We will encounter an end to ourselves that is the start of a new walk with God. This will happen every day we are open. If we stay by ourselves we can never reach the heights of this awareness and see the depths of our own awakening. If we engage with the world and with each other we will be made into that sort of perfect love that changed the world and the nature of all things on Calvary.

“Power.”

B. All this power has to be subject to higher principles. What good does it do anyone if we can do only what we want? What good does it ...
